Bangalore bowl; Mahmood, Miller make IPL debut - ESPN Cricinfo

Toss Royal Challengers Bangalore chose to field v Kings XI Punjab
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Kings XI Punjab, already without their captain Adam Gilchrist for this game, were asked to bat by Daniel Vettori on a greenish Mohali pitch which has assisted fast bowlers so far. David Hussey, leading Kings XI in place of the injured Gilchrist, said that he would have bowled first as well.

Kings XI made as many as four changes to the XI that lost meekly to Kolkata Knight Riders two days ago. Only one of them was forced, with South African batsman David Miller making his IPL debut in place of Gilchrist. Former Pakistan allrounder Azhar Mahmood also made a much-awaited IPL debut in place of Dimitri Mascarenhas. Nitin Saini and Parvinder Awana came in for Paras Dogra and Bhargav Bhatt.

Royal Challengers left out Tillakaratne Dilshan for Andrew McDonald, a tough choice which was dictated by the conditions, according to Vettori. The batsman Arun Karthik replaced left-arm spinner KP Appanna.

Kings XI Punjab: Paul Valthaty, Mandeep Singh, Shaun Marsh, David Hussey (capt), David Miller, Azhar Mahmood, Nitin Saini (wk), Piyush Chawla, Parvinder Awana, Praveen Kumar, Harmeet Singh
