Dennis Miller has joined the cast of the ABC comedy pilot Awesometown (formerly untitled Adam Sztykiel). The comedy pilot, from writer/executive producer Sztykiel and 20th Century Fox TV, is described as a raw, hilarious peek behind the curtain of modern twentysomething relationships. It centers on Dusty (Rappaport), a twentysomething guy who, after a divorce, moves into an apartment shared by his co-worker Andrew (Nick Kocher) and roommate Oliver (James Earl III). Miller will play Nelson Burke, the genius boss of Burke Architecture, “who has never smiled and is surgical with his cut downs.”
Pablo Schreiber is set to co-star opposite Janet Montgomery in CBS’ drama pilot Baby Big Shot. The project, from writer Dana Calvo, showrunner Kevin Falls, Sony TV and Jamie Tarses’ Fanfare, is a legal drama centered on Martina (Montgomery), a working-class woman who uses her street smarts to compete with her more polished colleagues at a top New York law firm. Schreiber, repped by ICM and D/F Management, will play just cast last night as Luke Aronson, a partner in the law firm and a romantic interest for Martina.
